Happy Wednesday!

Can you believe there are only 4 more days of Kindergarten?!  This year has flown by!

Balloon Activities
We've been busy popping our countdown balloons each morning during circle time.  Tuesday the special activity was an indoor snowball fight!  Yes, Mrs. Dunn has officially lost her mind!! :)  Actually, they did a great job and it wasn't too crazy.  For some reason when I joined in, they all started throwing snowballs at ME!

DIBELS reports
Today in green folders you will find DIBELS reports from the End of Year testing.  Take time to celebrate these great scores!  NWEA reports will come home in the next few days.

Bubbles!
Today our balloon said BUBBLES so we went outside and played!  It was a lot of fun!  Most of the boys and girls are bringing some of their leftover bubbles home with them today.

Kindergarten Awards Day
We worked hard today practicing for awards day tomorrow!  See you in the gym at 12:30 tomorrow!

Have a great afternoon!  Enjoy the sunshine!

Just a reminder that today the BOGO book fair opens. Today it is after school parent shopping from 4-7. Tuesday-Thursday it is open for students from 9:00 am-10:45 am and then from 12:15 pm-1:30 pm.

Balloon Popping
Today our balloon popping activity was painting day!  We spent part of our morning water color painting!  The boys and girls loved it and did a great job!  Most of their paintings are dry and coming home today. :)

Special Events
Please refer to the white piece of paper in your child's folder today with important info for this week's schedule.

Have a great week!

7 days left of school!

Bucketfillers
Wednesday afternoon we filled our fuzzy jar with our last fuzzy for getting a 5 in specials.  We celebrated our accomplishment by having a special snack outside and extra recess.  Way to go bucketfillers!

Rice Krispy Treat

LAST DAY

Balloon Activities
Thursday our balloon popping activity was a NO SHOES day!  We got to take our shoes off whenever we were in the classroom.  Friday our special balloon popping activity was "sit anywhere day!"  The boys and girls got to sit in any seat they wanted to when we were in the classroom.

Spring Program
Thursday afternoon we went and watched the 3rd grade classes and 4th grade choir practice their Spring Program--Songs on Broadway.  They did a great job!

Superkids Test
Today we took our final Superkids test of Kindergarten!  We couldn't get into the computer lab, so we did this test in our classroom on paper.  It looks a little different, but it is the same as what is on the computer.  I have graded and recorded these, so check out folders for your child's results.  The class did a great job!  I am so proud of all of their hard work this school year.

Have a great weekend!

The countdown is on!

Xtra Math
Did you know that students can lose almost 3 months of grade-level equivalency in math over the summer? XtraMath can help!  Students may continue to use their accounts after the expiration date as long as their account is associated with a parent account. The summer flyer instructs parents to create an associated parent account if they do not already have one via the “enrollment” process.  There are flyers in your child's folder today explaining how to set up your parent account if you haven't already done so.  We have been using Xtra Math on the computers during centers, and the boys and girls LOVE it!  I highly recommend using it this summer!

Franklin Mini
Last Friday evening all students had the opportunity to participate in the Franklin Mini at Needham Elementary.  We had several accomplishments!  First, Caiden won the Kindergarten race out of all 5 schools!  Way to go!  Second, Creekside won the "golden shoe" again for the 2nd year in a row for having the most participation/loudest cheering group!  Woo hoo!

Balloon Activities--counting down the last 10 days of school!
Today I surprised the students with 10 balloons hanging up.  Each day during circle time we will pop 1 balloon to help count down the last 10 days of Kindergarten!  Inside each balloon is a piece of paper with a special fun activity on it that we will complete during that day.  Today we had our first activity: sidewalk chalk!  Fun!

Library Books
All library books are due by Friday. Please be sure your child brings all 3. We will not be checking out new books anymore this school year. If you have lost a book, please send in a note letting Mrs. Bockover know. Thank you!

Have a great day!

Happy Monday!

Franklin Mini
If your child participated in the Franklin Mini on Friday at Needham, Mrs. Leonard would like to take a group photo tomorrow!  If they got a ribbon or trophy, please send it to school tomorrow to be in the photo.  Creekside got the Golden Shoe again this year for having the most participation!  Way to go!

Homework
Remember, there is no homework this week or next!  Enjoy the last 12 days of school homework free! :)  Hopefully the rain moves out of here and we can enjoy those homework free nights outside! Keep reading and working on sight words at home.

Sight Words
Speaking of sight words, our sight words this week are: purple, pink, white, brown, black.  Please add these to your practice at home!

Important Dates
Thursday, May 19 is Awards day!  Please plan on having someone  attend for your child.  The program will run from 12:30-2.  We will be singing songs, receiving diplomas and other special awards, looking at our portfolios, and watching our year end slideshow.  Please go straight to the gym on Thursday when you arrive at school.  The students have talked about dressing up as their favorite Superkid for the program.  Look through the online portal or books sent home for ideas.  We will be having a Superkids Graduation parade Thursday morning in front of the whole school, so it’s important all are dressed as Superkids!
Friday, May 20 is our Franklin College Field trip.  Your child will need to wear clothes weather appropriate to be outside, tennis shoes, and their Franklin College t-shirt that we painted.  They will need to bring a sack lunch to school.
Monday, May 23 is field day.  Our class will be playing a        lot  of  fun games together, and having a picnic outside.          Please have your child wear comfy clothes and tennis            shoes.  They may also bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a    hat since we will be outside all day.  They may bring a            water bottle as well.
Tuesday, May 24 is the last day of Kindergarten!  Please      make sure your child brings their book bag—they will take     A LOT of things home!

Have a great week!

Only 12 school days left!

Can you believe we only have 2 full weeks left of school?!  This year has flown by!  We have so many fun things coming up in the next 12 days of Kindergarten!

Kindergarten Awards Day
Kindergarten Awards Day will be Thursday, May 19 from 12:30-2:00. Kindergartners will dress up as their favorite Superkid!  Don't forget to be looking through the online portal or books at home to come up with your child's outfit!  I will post pictures for examples of what the Superkids look like below. We will have Superkids parade in the morning, and our "graduation" program in the afternoon. Hope to see you there!  We will begin the program in the gym with all 5 classes singing some of our favorite Superkids songs.  After singing, children will be called up one at a time to receive their Kindergarten certificate from Dr. Heiden.  Then, we will watch a video of some of the highlights of our year!  Finally, we will return to our classroom where the children will share their Kindergarten Portfolios with you!  Please plan on attending this event.  Children may leave with parents at the conclusion of the program.

Field Trip
Don't forget to return the blue permission slip so that your child can attend our Franklin College, Library, and Park field trip on Friday, May 20.  This last trip of the year is FREE!  I have just about everyone's in already!  Your child will need to bring a sack lunch and wear tennis shoes on this day!

Field Day
Monday, May 23 is Field Day at Creekside.  More information pertaining to our class will be sent home on this in the coming weeks,  Dr. Heiden sent an email with a sign-up sheet attached.  Please fill that out if you are interested in helping.  It is such a fun day and a great way to celebrate the end of the school year!

Last Day of Kindergarten!
Tuesday, May 24 is the last day of school!  This is also Creekside Awards Day (different from Kindergarten Awards Day).  Students who have had perfect attendance or outstanding attendance all year will be recognized at this program, which is from 9:00-10:30.

Mother's Day
Today your child is bringing home a special Mother's Day present that we worked on in class this week.  Hopefully they all make it home safely. :)  I have told them not to hide in until Sunday--but to give it to you early so it stays safe.  Happy Mother's Day--and thanks to all the amazing moms out there!

Perfect Attendance
We filled our third perfect attendance chart this week and got our popsicles from the office.  That's 60 days of perfect attendance!  Way to go!

Have a great weekend!

It's May!!

Sight Words
Our sight words for the week are: red, yellow, green, blue, orange.  Please add these to your practice at home!  Next week we will do the rest of the color words!  Then we will review and I will be assessing if your child can read all of the kindergarten sight words!

Field Day T-shirts
In folders today you will find a blue piece of paper that talks about Field Day t-shirts and ordering them.  Please read it carefully because all students will be getting a t-shirt, so the form needs to be returned. This paper needs to be returned NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY!  Even if you cannot send in the $5, please do return the paper so PTO knows what size shirt to order for your child.

Class Coin Wars
This week we are having class coin war to raise money for the Creekside Relay for Life team! The class that raises the most money will get to throw water balloons at the specials teachers during field day. The class was pretty excited about the prize when I told them this morning!

Franklin College Field Trip
Don't forget that our class is going to Franklin College, the public library, and the park on Friday, May 20.  Your child will need to wear tennis shoes, their FC t-shirt (we will paint in class next week), and bring a sack lunch on this day!  I am still missing a few permission slips, so please send those in as soon as you can (please let me know if you need another one!)
