Holiday Party
On Friday, December 18th, the second grade classes are having a holiday breakfast/Christmas party! While we sadly can't have parents in the class for the party this year, I would still greatly appreciate some donations to make our party successful. WE HAVE EVERYTHING DONATED! Thank you! If you signed up to donate something please try to send in tomorrow or Thursday if you haven't sent it in already. This way I have time to prep everything before Friday morning.

Arctic Day
On Thursday, December 17th, we are having Arctic Day! We will be celebrating Arctic Day! We will be spending the day studying and doing fun projects all about the Arctic, snow, and Arctic animals! We will be doing projects, watching videos, doing some things on google classroom, and even have a virtual field trip planned!

Writing

Here is what we are working on in Writing this week:

  • editing, proofreading

  • complete sentences with punctuation

  • commas in a friendly letter


High Ability

Here is what we are working on in our high ability unit this week:

  • adding titles to pictures

  • persuasive letters

  • change charts

  • reading-- Because of Winn Dixie

Holidays Around the World
For 15 days, we will "travel" to a different country, and learn how children in that country celebrate Christmas.  We will do a power point, story, writing journal, and craft for each day/country.  Students will bring home all their research before Christmas break.  Here are the countries for this week:

  • Canada

We are in the last push until Christmas and the end of the semester!  I am going to keep things pretty normal this week schedule wise.  The next two weeks will be a little different, with special Christmas activities, NWEA testing 2 days, and DIBELS testing.  For that reason, we will finish our Wonders reading unit this week, NOT do wonders M-W this week, and then we WILL do wonders the last week before break on M-W.

Holiday Party
