It's almost Christmas!

Lunch Menu Changes for the rest of this week:

 Wednesday (12/15)  Rotini Pasta w/Garlic Bread in place of the Stromboli

Thursday (12/16)  Mac/Cheese Bowls w/roll in place of Turkey & Noodles

Friday (12/17)  Chicken & Cheese Taquito in place of Hot Dog


NWEA and DIBELS reports coming home
Middle of Year testing reports and copies of goal sheets are coming home today!  Please look these over with your child, and let me know if you have any questions or concerns.  I'm so proud of the class' hard work and growth this semester!

3 school days left this semester!

We are in the last push until Christmas and the end of the semester!

12/17--PJ day/movie day!


Canned Food Drive
Let's spread some holiday cheer by collecting canned goods for families in Franklin! Items can be brought to school throughout the month of December. All baskets will be collected on December 17th. The top class in each grade will win a popcorn party after winter break. Send in canned goods if you can!

Themed Days
To spread some holiday cheer, we are going to have some fun dress up days the last week before break! This is totally optional, and only if your child wants to participate any of the days.

12/13--red/green day
12/14--Frosty/white day
12/15--favorite holiday shirt day
12/16--Grinch/green day
12/17--PJ day


Holiday Party
Our Christmas Party is scheduled for Thursday, December 16th. The class will be doing 4 fun stations to celebrate the season! THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered to donate. We have everything covered! Don't forget to send in your items tomorrow if you haven't done so already.

Writing

Holidays Around the World
For 15 days, we will "travel" to a different country, and learn how children in that country celebrate Christmas.  We will do a power point, story, writing journal, and craft for each day/country.  Students will bring home all their research before Christmas break.  Here are the countries for this week:

  • India
  • Russia
  • Canada

Early Release

Don't forget--Tomorrow is Wednesday!  That means early release day!  Dismissal will start at 1:40.

8 School days left this semester!

8 school days left this semester!

We are in the last push until Christmas and the end of the semester!  The next two weeks will be a little different, with special Christmas activities, NWEA testing 2 days, and DIBELS testing.  For that reason, we will NOT start wonders this week until Thursday, and then we WILL finish wonders M-W the last week before break.  

Some important dates to note:
12/8--DIBELS testing
12/15--spelling test
12/16--Holiday party in class 
12/17--PJ day/movie day!

NWEA
We finished NWEA testing this morning!  The class worked so hard the past two mornings to get this important middle of year testing done.  Look for results to come home on paper before Christmas break!

Canned Food Drive
