brrrr....

Guest Readers
Monday friends from Miss Records' first grade class came to recite their reader's theater play "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" They are practicing for their guest day performance next week. They did a great job, and we were an excellent audience!

The Adventures of Twinkle continue!
Monday Twinkle went fishing like Frits!

Tuesday Twinkle was tied up in our bathroom by the Gingerbread man!

On Wednesday Twinkle made a zip line!

Superkids
Today we met our next Superkid, Ettabetta!  Only one more Superkid to go after Christmas Break!  Here are some questions to prompt discussion at home:
Who is the Superkid? Ettabetta
What does her name start with? /e/ (The short sound that E makes is all we will be working on right now.)
What does Ettabetta like to do? Her puzzle book.

When I updated the online portal to the new unit, I noticed that there are 2 new games and stories!  This would be a great thing to check out over break!

Superkids Progress Test
We finished our next Superkids progress test.  I have those graded, and they are coming home today.  Be sure to check them out, and let me know if you have any questions or concerns!

Winter Weather, Recess, and Snow Boots
Winter is finally here!  And with that, we see a lot of days of indoor recess due to extreme cold and/or a snow covered playground.  On the days that the temperature (windchill included) is 25 or above, we will be going out as long as the blacktop is free of snow and ice.  That being said, we have been stuck inside all week.  Indoor recess can be fun at first, but sometimes becomes mundane for the kids, or can become a problem as the kids get stir-crazy. If your child wears snow boots to school, it is a good idea to send in a regular pair of tennis shoes to change into while at school.  This not only ensures they have proper shoes for PE on Tuesdays, but the boots can also be hard to walk in all day for some kiddos.  Thanks for your help with this.

Have a great rest of the week!
