Another Busy Week Ahead!

Operation Bundle Up
Creekside is participating in operation bundle up to help the United Way.  If you have any gently used coats that you are looking to part with, please send to the office between now and October 13th.  Thanks for your help!

Walk A Thon
In your child's folder today you will find a yellow piece of paper and an envelope.  The yellow paper has all the details of our Walk A Thon fundraiser for PTO, which kicks off today.  Please try to collect over the whole two weeks.  We are trying to reach a goal of $10,500.   I know we can reach this goal with everyone's help!

Here is the basic info:  kick off-9/19, collect until 10/4, walk on 10/6.  Incentive chart with prizes you can win will come home in a few days on purple paper.

Superkids Progress Test
We took our first progress test in Superkids today.  As soon as I get those graded and recorded, I will send them home.  Please look over the results and let me know if you have any questions or concerns!  We will take a progress test after every 2-3 letters/units.

Vision Screening papers
In your child's folder today, you will find a permission slip for vision screening.  All FCS Kindergarten students will go get this free vision screening on October 4th at Northwood.  Please sign the permission slip for them to ride the bus to Northwood.  The paper says due back yesterday--but we didn't get the papers until yesterday afternoon, so please just send back ASAP--preferably by the end of the week!

College GO Week!
Coming Soon!  College Go Week!  September 25-29, 2017.

Dress Up Days will be:
Monday: Hats off to College and Career Readiness Day (Hat Day)
Tuesday: Time to interview Tuesday (Dress for Success Day)
Wednesday: We want to be....Wednesday (Career Dress-up Day)
Thursday: College Gear Day (College Gear or Colors Day)
Friday: Celebrate being a Creekside Cougar (Creekside Spirit Wear Day)

Book It
I have signed our class up to participate in Book It! this year.  If you are unfamiliar with the program, it is a monthly reading program that partners with Pizza Hut, and runs from October-March.  Each month the students will bring home a reading calendar.  Any night you read at home together, color in the calendar.  All students who bring back a completed calendar at the end of the month get a free pizza certificate from Pizza Hut!  All students who complete all 6 months will get a pizza party with me in the classroom one day during lunch.  Look for the October log to come home soon!  Happy Reading!

Box Tops
Please keep sending in Box Tops labels to our classroom and help our school earn money!  Also we gladly accept Box Tops, Campbell's Labels (also found on V8, Pepperidge Farm, etc.), Coke points (worth $.05 each; parents can enter those online and donate the points themselves, or I can enter them), Tyson Project A+ labels ($.24 each), Sunbeam School Spirit upc's ($.05 each), and also pop can tabs for Riley Hospital.

Zoo Permission Slips
Permission slips and money for the zoo will be due soon.  Please keep in mind we are in need of many parents to chaperone.  I am still missing several permission slips.  Volunteers will need to have a background check on file prior to the trip.  Also, because of lack of bus space, parents will need to meet at Creekside and then drive to the zoo.  Carpooling with other parents is a great idea to save on parking--the zoo will still charge you to park that day ($6) even though it's a field trip. :(

Have a great week!
