Book Order
Today I am sending home the April book order. This will be your last chance to order for the school year (isn't that crazy?!)! I don't like to do book orders in May, due to the worry of them coming in before the last day of school. If you are interested in ordering any summer reading, book orders are due April 13.
Math
This week in math, we will be reviewing 10’s and 1’s, and how to bundle straws to represent 2-digit numbers. We will also work more on addition and subtraction, combinations of 10, and review calculators. We are also working on a special flower number project to display in the hallway. Stay tuned for pictures of our completed projects!
Children's Museum Field Trip
Tomorrow I am sending home a field trip permission slip for our trip to the Indianapolis Children’s Museum. Money and slips will be due Monday, April 30. Like the zoo, we will need MANY parent chaperones to help out with this trip. Please fill out that section of the form if you are interested in joining us! Our field trip is scheduled for Monday, May 7th.
Google Expedition
Next Tuesday afternoon, our class will have the opportunity to “go on an ocean safari” by utilizing the Google Expedition Kit. This should be a very exciting experience for all of us! Stay tuned for pictures!
Snow Make Up Day
Don’t forget we DO have school Friday, April 27. This was scheduled as our snow make-up day.
Roller Skating-PE
Our class will be skating each Tuesday in PE for the next five weeks. Please be sure your child comes to school wearing socks on those days. Remember they can bring a helmet or other gear if you wish for them to wear it while roller skating.
Spring Carnival
Don't forget that the Creekside Spring Carnival is Friday, April 13, from 5:30-8:30pm. Come out to enjoy all of the fun…including a dunk tank and Pie-in-the-Face booth! There will also be teacher raffles, bounce houses, games, and more!
Superkids
This week in Superkids we are working on the letter W, unit 7! I can't believe how quickly time is going! Lily is the Supernoodle this week. Ask your child what Lily wants the Superkids to do!
Writer's Workshop
We are going to be busy during Writing time this week! We are going to work on a special Earth Day writing, Superkids Travel guides, adding titles to our stories, and letter writing.
Countdown to Summer
It sounds crazy to be talking about the end of the school year already, but it will be here before we know it! We will be doing an ABC countdown the last 26 days of the school year (there are 42 days left after today). I will be sending a paper home soon with all the info you will need for this! Most days it is just wearing something special that starts with that letter (S is sunglasses day for example). Stay tuned!
April Snack Calendar
Don’t forget when sending in snacks, please send in
something for the whole class. Please
don’t send in drinks, something that requires utensils or eat, or anything that
needs refrigeration. Items like cereal,
crackers, fruit snacks, and granola bars are always popular snack choices. If you could, please send in a package of
small Dixie cups with the snack, if it is not individually wrapped. We have 24
students if you send in something individually wrapped. You do not need to send in one thing per day,
just one or two big boxes of something.
