10 more school days after today!

Don't forget to keep sending in field day shirt forms!  Every student will get a t-shirt from PTO to wear on field day, I just need to know their size!  Forms are due by Thursday!

Don't forget the mile run on Thursday!  Please have your child wear comfy clothes and TENNIS SHOES!

Creekside Field Day is a Blast!
Volunteers are needed for our Field Day on Tuesday, May 28th. It takes about 100 volunteers to make Field Day a success. Each adult will be assigned a station for certain times. Lunch is provided for workers. If you would be able to help on this day, please complete this form https://forms.gle/EUp4XWzaPnG8ZSyB9
Background checks MUST be completed prior to working at Field Day.

Reminders
**Don't forget about our Second Grade guest day TONIGHT! The whole family is invited to bring their picnic dinner to Creekside and enjoy each others company!  The playground will be open after dinner.  Hope to see you there from 5:30-7!  This event is come and go as you please.

Early Release
Don't forget tomorrow is Wednesday!  That means Early Release day!  Dismissal will start at 1:40

Math
Here is what we are working on in math this week:
  • multiplication/division facts
  • elapsed time problems
  • dividing groups
  • multi-digit multiplication
  • Our LAST math test of the year will be on Thursday!  Keep working through that review packet I sent home last week.  

Superkids
Here is what we are working on in Superkids this week:
  • memory words: very, terrible, there, their, they're, library, marry, berry, merry, where, wear, bury
  • The next spelling test will be WEDNESDAY, 5/15.  This will be the LAST spelling test of the year!  We will do 1 more Superkids unit, but won't test over it.
  • the "ar" sound spelled different ways
  • homophones
  • adding different endings to words
  • using "because" as a connector word in sentences
  • comprehension
  • fluency
  • Super Magazine--That's Wild!

High Ability
Here is what we are working on in our high ability unit this week:
  • reading: Through My Eyes
  • completing a graph on how school has changed for all students of different backgrounds over the years
  • reading: The Tale of Despereaux 

Writer's Workshop
Here is what we are working on in Writer's Workshop this week:
  • Cursive writing--S, F, G, D
