*  Kindness week introduced on the  announcements. Each day on the announcements we will talk about a simple way to spread kindness.

*  Miss Cook will be coming by classrooms in the morning to drop off the KINDNESS CHALLENGE!

* Simple way to spread kindness: Smile as you pass people in the hallway!

*  Bucket filler cards will be reintroduced on the announcements. On Friday, I will be coming to each lunch to read out bucket filler cards. Please be on the lookout for students being bucket fillers!

* Simple way to spread kindness: Give a staff member a compliment today! Tell them why you think they are great!

* Hats off to kindness! WEAR YOUR FAVORITE HAT!

* It’s Wonderful Word Wednesday and we will connect our word of the month GRATITUDE to KINDNESS.

* Simple way to spread kindness: show gratitude by saying THANK YOU to a helper. A helper can be a teacher, a custodian, a police officer, or a veteran (plus lots more!).

*WEAR RED WHITE AND BLUE for Veteran’s Day!

* There is only one more day to complete the kindness challenge!

* Simple way to spread kindness: Look for a way to be kind at recess. Invite someone to play a game. Make sure to include everyone who wants to play. Take turns and share.

*We completed our challenge day! WEAR ORANGE TO CELEBRATE

*  When each class completes their challenge, they will be given an orange sticker to wear.

*  We all wear orange together to show that Creekside is united together in kindness.

* Simple way to spread kindness: Take what we have talked about this week home!

Check with your child about "Special Agent Cook" who visited your child's classroom today for our focus on spreading kindness to our communities. This week we will have discussions and activities where we challenge our students to think about how they are kind or spread kindness to our community.

To celebrate this week and Veterans Day on Thursday, we have three dress up days.

Wednesday, November 10th - Hats Off to Kindness Day (Hat Day!)

Thursday, November 11th - Red, White, and Blue Day for Veterans Day (we also have special Veterans Day programming on this day for our students)

Friday, November 12th - Wear Orange to Celebrate Kindness Day

United Way Coat Drive

United Way of Johnson County OPERATION BUNDLE UP (OBU) needs your help in collecting NEW only HATS, GLOVES, MITTENS, and SCARVES.  FCS is teaming up with UWJC and accepting donations through October 29th.  Please send your donation to school with your child or you can drop it off during school hours in the OBU totes in the entryway of each school building.  See the attached flyer for more information.

Coats and used items will not be accepted this year due to COVID-19 precautions.  Approved families will be receiving a voucher to receive a coat.

Thank you for helping keep our families warm this winter.

Disney On Ice Field Trip

We are headed to Disney on Ice in January! Keep those permission slips coming in!! We think we will be able to take chaperones--please return the slip for your child NO LATER than next Friday, November 12. This is a hard deadline so we can order enough tickets. No chaperones will be able to be added later.
