Happy Groundhog's Day!
We did fun shadow/light experiments, and a groundhog's story and songs Tuesday to celebrate Groundhog's day. Ask your child to share what they learned!
Math
Here are a few pictures of groups playing the attribute spinner game on Monday! What great group work and teamwork!
No School--February 15
We have not received an official notification from the Indiana Department of Education regarding our missed day in December. Thus, we will NOT be in session on February 15th, but we may have to attend one more day at the end of the year.
Heart Homework
Wednesday in folders you will see a red piece of paper with a writing paper heart. Please follow the directions to have your child write a nice message to a friend. Then have them cut, color, and decorate the writing, and glue it to the red piece of paper. Don't forget to have them sign the bottom of their heart so the friend knows who wrote the nice things about them! We will display these in the hallway for Valentine's Day. You can send them in whenever they are finished--I would like to have all displayed by Monday of next week if possible.
Superkids
Tuesday we watched a Super Smart about Communities. This one was divided into several important parts: Health and Safety, Foods We Eat, Transportation, Buildings, and Clean and Beautiful. We also talked about the main idea of the story. Please also remember to ask about story elements during nightly reading at home (characters, setting, problem, solution, beginning, middle, end, and MAIN IDEA).
Wednesday we began the second half of our first Superkids Club book. For the remainder of the book, we will learn about the letter Rr and find out more about how the Superkids plan on using the old bus as a meeting place for their club.
