Happy Cat in the Hat day!

Dry Erase Markers
We are quickly running out of fine tip black dry erase markers.  We use them every day, sometimes more than once a day, and our supply is running low.  Any donations of these over the next couple of weeks would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks in advance.

Math
Next Tuesday we are going to begin working on a math project called "Class Collections". This is a project to teach us more about counting, keeping records, and grouping objects by 5's, and 10's. This will be an ongoing project that will last for 2-3 weeks. The class is going to be collecting Box Tops, which is great because then when our project is complete we can give all of the box tops to our PTO to get $ for our school.
Here is what I need you/your child to do:
1. Find or start collecting any Box Top that you can (at your house, neighbors, etc.)

2. Have your child count how many box tops they collect each day and write that number on a piece of paper. Please have your child also write the date on that piece of paper.
3.Put that piece of paper and the box tops in an envelope or baggie and have your child bring them in to school.
4. Repeat this process every time your child finds or collects more box tops. (Remember, this is an ongoing project so your child can bring them in more than just 1 day).
Each day we have Box Tops come in, we will add them to our collection, add up the new total, and write that information on our data sheet that we will be keeping. Thanks in advance for helping with this project. I will let you know when the project is over.

Dr. Seuss' Birthday!
We had fun celebrating today.  We made Cat in the Hat hats, Cat in the Hat Whiskers, and read the story at the end of the day.  Check out our pictures below.

Have a great day!
