Lots of important papers in folders today!

I hope you all had a great first weekend in October!

Parent Teacher Conferences--Time Confirmation
I am sending home a little white slip of paper with your day and time on today!  Please check folders for this!  Please mark this on your calendar and plan on attending!  We want 100% perfect attendance! :)

Book Order
The October book order form is coming home today.  These will be due after Fall break, on the 21st.  Remember--no pressure to order!  But if you want to, it's a great, inexpensive way to add to your home library!

Book It
Today in folders you will also find the first Book It calendar.  There is also a letter explaining about the Book It program.  Each month from Octover through March, I will send home a reading calendar.  Color in each day you read at home (the calendar says for 20 minutes, but you can count it if you read one story, 10 minutes, a bed time story, or the story in your R.E.D folders on Tuesday.  The point is to just get reading!!)  At the end of the month, return the calendar, and your child will get a certificate for a free pan pizza from Pizza Hut!  I am going to do something special too for all the students that complete each month October-March.  Happy Reading!

Homework Sheet
There is a new homework sheet for this week in folders.  Don't forget about the writing part on the back!

Zoo Field Trip
Our zoo field trip is this Friday!  Here are some things to remember:
1.  Please have your child bring their lunch--in a disposable bag!  Everything needs to be able to be thrown away after lunch.
2.  Please have your child wear comfortable walking shoes.
3.  Please have your child wear their dolphin t-shirt that we painted in class. (I will send these home on Thursday).
4.  Chaperones--please come to the classroom at 8am on Friday.  If you get here sooner, please try to wait in the hall until 8.  We need to get through our morning routines as quickly and calmly as possible. :)

Fall Break
Just a reminder that Fall Break starts Friday after dismissal.  We will not have school Monday10th-Friday 14th.  School will resume on Monday, October 17th.

Walk A Thon
Walk a Thon money is due tomorrow!  We will walk Thursday from 1-1:30pm, if you would like to join us!
