Happy Monday!

Veteran's Day Program
Friday, November 10th at 9am Creekside will be having a Veteran's Day Program.  We will be holding a Veterans Breakfast before the program just as a small "Thank You" from Creekside.  Since we are doing breakfast, it is very important to get all of the names of the people that will be attending in advance so that we know how much food we will need!   Please return paper ASAP to RSVP!

Turkey Homework

They look great!  Thanks for doing this at home!  I can't wait to finish the writing piece tomorrow and display in the hallway.  Stay tuned to our Facebook page for pictures!

Play field trip

Just a reminder that we are going to the high school to see the play Dragons Love Tacos next Monday, November 13.  I am still missing a few permission slips-please get those turned in tomorrow.  Your child will need to bring their lunch next Monday!

Superkids
It’s hard to believe but we are ready to finish up our Superkid Lily unit! We will have our Supersmart tomorrow, followed by our Unit 3 test.  As soon as I get those graded, I will send them home for you to review.  Wednesday we will meet a new Superkid!

Writer’s Workshop
By the end of the week we will have introduced each of the 6 Traits of writing: Ideas, Organization, Voice, Word Choice, Sentence Fluency, and Conventions. D uring Writer’s Workshop time, I will continue to teach mini lessons that go along with each of these traits to help the children become better authors and illustrators. At this stage of writing, it is important to have a detailed picture and your child should be beginning to have letters/words written on the page.  As the year progresses, I will expect to see even more letter/sound combinations and words written each day, and eventually sentences!

Sight Words
Our new sight word this week is: by.  Can your child read all these words?   I, am, the, little, yes, no, a, to, have, we, my, like, by.  Keep practicing at home!

Mini Feast
On Monday, November 20 Kindergarten will hold our annual Mini-Feast to celebrate Thanksgiving. Please look for more detailed information in your child’s folder today, along with a donation list/volunteer sign-up sheet.
Start getting those costumes ready! :)

Smencils
Smencils go on sale in the office tomorrow for $1. If you have an older student, you probably know these are scented pencils, and are a HUGE hit with the kids!  If you would like your child to be able to purchase one, you can send in $1 any day this week.

Creekside Spirit Wear
PTO Spirit Wear sale starts today and ends Nov. 27 at 11:59pm. It is all online this year! We are offering both Creekside and Franklin gear in adult and youth sizes. There are also some "bling" items if you like a little sparkle! You can choose to have it sent home with your student free of charge to avoid shipping fees. Items will be shipped to your house or sent home with your student (depending on the delivery option you choose at checkout) the week of December 11th, just in time to give as a gift! There is a GIFT OPTION if you don't want the items sent home with your student, but don't want to pay to have them shipped to your house. Your gift items will be delivered free of charge to the Creekside office with the gift option and can be picked up during regular office hours. Also, if you have family or friends that want to order, just make sure they know the correct grade and teacher for your student and they can order too. If you have any questions, please feel free to email Kim Lock at klockmomrn@yahoo.com. Thank you and happy shopping!

Have a great week!
