field trip
Yesterday you should have seen a paper in folders about our walking trip around Franklin. Please have those in WITH $1 as soon as you can. We can have 5 chaperones only per class, due to capacity limits at the museum and city hall. If I have more than 5 sign up, I will pick 5 out of a hat. But don't worry! We will be going on a field trip to the children's museum in December, and will take AS MANY chaperones as want to come for that field trip!
Operation Bundle-Up
Keep sending in any gently used coats that you would like to donate to operation bundle up! Used coats due by Thursday, October 11th.
Due to the walk a thon on Friday, we did not get our superkids lesson in. So, the spelling test will not be tomorrow! Everything will be pushed back one day, and the spelling test will be WEDNESDAY this week. We won't start a new superkids unit until after Fall Break.
In folders today
Franklin Education Foundation Pacers ticket fundraiser. Packets due back by 10/25 if you are interested in selling tickets.
PTO WALK A THON
To celebrate the success of our PTO Walk-A-Thon, we have our Pajama Day tomorrow, Wednesday, and our Hat Day on Friday. We don't worry about if a child actually brought in the amount to earn these prizes, so really these days are open to all students who wish to dress-up.
Muffins With Mom
Creekside is holding its annual Muffins with Mom events on Wednesday, November 7th and on Friday, November 9th. These events are free. Because we believe turn-out will be large, we have two events:
- Cub Academy, K-2 students with moms - Wednesday
, November 7th from 7:00-7:30 AM - 3-4 students with moms - Friday, November 9th from 7:00-7:30 AM
Both mornings will be in our gym.
We ask that moms try to attend the event that corresponds with their child's current grade level. However, moms that have children in more than one grade may choose the event that works the best for their schedule and attend one event with their children. Also, if one event works better than the other, moms can attend either event with their son or daughter.
The menu will be muffins and fruit along with fruit juice and coffee.

- 6 traits--Conventions (finger spaces, capitalization, punctuation)
- grading our writing using a rubric
- writing a paragraph (at least 4 sentences)
- writing opinion pieces

- silence
- exploring personal changes
- reading the book Frindle
- using a dictionary
- context clues
