Almost October!

Happy (almost) October!  It sure feels like Fall this week!

E-learning Days--fall break

Just a reminder--we will have e-learning days on October 12-14 where students will complete their work on the computer.  Fall break with no school will be October 15-16.  Please see below for more details from Dr. Clendening:

  • Teachers will have assignments posted in google classroom by 9am each day.
  • Student assignments are due no later than 5 days after the e-learning day.
  • There is no live instruction.  Teachers may post videos, assignments, ect, but all that is to be shraed and completed will be posted by 9am.
  • We understand that not all students will have access to internet each day to complete assignments due to various factors.  Therefore, students will have five school days to complete work after the e-learning day.

Clocks

Second grade picks a goal every month or so to work on.  Our goal this cycle was telling time to the 5 minute.  We took a check in quiz yesterday that I sent home.  If you see that your child is still struggling with this skill, please continue to work on it at home.  There are some fun games online that will help as well.

Veteran's Day

Our school convocation for Veteran's Day this year will be virtual.  Mrs. Garrett is charging second grade with the task of coming up with the artwork for the video.  I talked to the class about this project today and am sending the white paper to use and a copy of the instructions home today.  This is an OPTIONAL activity if your child wants to complete and return to school.  Submissions are due by October 23.
