Another snow day!

 Hope you are all safe from the snow the past few days!  

Happy President's Day Monday, snow day Tuesday, and 2 hour delay today!  Please remember to have your child log on to their google classroom and complete the work.  Then go out and play in the snow!  

Early Release
Don't forget due to the  2 hour delay in the morning, we will NOT have early release.

Writing

High Ability

Here is what we are working on in our high ability unit this week:

• reading-- Marvin and the Mean Words

Math

Here is what we are working on in math this week:

• multiplication strategies
• solving larger multiplication facts
• writing number stories
• multiplication and division number story diagrams
• order of operations
• I am sending home the unit 6 review packet today. Our test will be in 2 parts--next Wednesday we will take the unit 6 test, and Thursday we will take the cumulative review test.

Wonders Reading

Here is what we are working on this week in reading:

• essential question--How does the Earth change?
• genre--expository text
• phonics--r-controlled vowels (-eer, -ear, -ere)
• Grammar--contractions
• vocabulary---sentence/context clues
• writing--realistic fiction
• writing--peer conference
• writing--edit and revise
• comprehension--reread
• comprehension--cause and effect
• text features--subheadings and bold print
• DUE TO THE SHORT WEEK, THERE WILL NOT BE A SPELLING TEST FRIDAY!
